Chasing Rats Games says it has temporarily disabled Worship’s Steam Cloud sync after reports of progress disappearing when players switch devices. Its advice is to keep playing on one device until the problem is resolved. For anyone moving between a desktop and a handheld, check that warning before the next session.
The notice was published on November 4 at 23:03 UTC, after the game’s 1.0 launch. At our November 5, 12:16 UTC check, it was still the newest item in the complete official Steam news feed; no later restoration announcement appeared there. That is a check of the developer’s published notices, not an independent test of cloud sync.
Three save-related events, not one fix
The launch already involved a deliberate reset, so the sequence matters. The 1.0 announcement says everyone starts with a fresh save because the release changes the save system. That planned new start is separate from the unexpected loss reported when changing devices.
Later, Hotfix #01 addressed getting stuck while loading after saving and quitting with Hubryus, Nightmares Shaper, plus missing tutorial localization. Those notes do not announce a cloud-sync repair. The cloud suspension notice came afterward.

In the cloud notice, the studio said it believed it had identified the cause and aimed to deliver a hotfix the following morning. That is a November 5 target with no stated timezone, not confirmation that a patch shipped. The developer also said it would announce when sync returned.
What to do before changing devices
For now, the actionable advice in that notice is one device. It is the developer’s precaution, not a workaround we have tested or a guarantee that lost progress can be recovered. The post does not establish how many players are affected or promise restoration of missing saves.
Steam’s current listing corroborates the November 4 release and single-player scope. Neither a launch listing nor an earlier hotfix establishes that this later save issue is resolved. Check the official news feed for an explicit follow-up before treating the cross-device warning as cleared.
