Ubisoft has shared a closer look at its upcoming lineup for this year, and it is packed with major releases. According to Beadle, Associate Director of Ubisoft Public Relations, the publisher has a strong slate of titles on the way, including Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Driver: San Francisco, TrackMania, The Adventures of Tintin, Your Shape, Motion Sports Adrenaline, and Killer Freaks, a newly announced title for the Nintendo Wii U.
The Adventures of Tintin is Ubisoft’s video game adaptation tied to the movie arriving this holiday season. Meanwhile, Your Shape is a Kinect-based fitness game featuring customizable workouts designed to help players stay active and get in shape.
Another major title in the lineup is Driver: San Francisco. Ubisoft says it is excited to be working with Martin Edmondson and his team on the latest entry in the long-running franchise, which has now been around for fifteen years. The new game features a strong multiplayer component and introduces an interesting gameplay twist: the ability to jump from one car to another. Driver: San Francisco is scheduled to launch this fall for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS.
Of course, one of the biggest headliners is Assassin’s Creed Revelations. Ezio returns once again, and players will also learn more about Desmond while seeing the return of Altair from the original Assassin’s Creed. Ubisoft describes the game as an important closing chapter in this part of the franchise.
Set in Constantinople, Revelations offers players a fresh setting to explore and promises to be bigger and more ambitious than previous entries. Ubisoft believes fans will be impressed by what the game brings when it launches in November. Without revealing too much, the company says the story will branch in new ways while continuing the narrative threads that have kept players invested in the series for years.
On the gameplay side, Assassin’s Creed Revelations introduces new mechanics, including customizable bombs and additional weapons. Ubisoft emphasizes that the game is not just about expanding the size of the world, but also about making that world feel more connected to the story and to the overall player experience.
We also asked about the game’s budget. With the development team expanded for this installment, Ubisoft now has plenty of experience working within the series. Since the technology and engine are already well established on current consoles, it is possible the studio was able to create a more ambitious game while keeping production more efficient.
