The Wolf Among Us Remastered launches on October 29, but owning the original does not guarantee the same discount everywhere. Telltale’s published offer gives qualifying digital owners 50% off on Steam, Epic and Xbox. On PS5, that rate requires PlayStation Plus; eligible owners without Plus get 30% off.

The announced US base price is $24.99. These are launch terms published on October 20, not a sale that has already started. Before buying, check which copy you own, which account holds it and where you want to buy the remaster.

The launch offers, store by store

Telltale’s chart lists the promotion from October 29 to November 12, 2026, starting and ending at 6 AM PT. It also warns that prices and exact times may vary by region and store. Treat the US base price as a reference, not a converted Polish or worldwide checkout price.

Steam20% off50% off
Epic Games Store20% off50% off
Xbox20% off50% off
PS5 with PlayStation Plus20% off50% off
PS5 without PlayStation PlusFull price30% off

These percentages are the total advertised discounts. The owner offer is not another 50% taken off an already discounted launch price. Nor is this a free upgrade.

The PS5 split is easy to miss behind a headline about saving “up to 50%.” Ownership and subscription status are separate conditions. A digital PS4 copy qualifies for the owner offer, but Plus determines which owner rate applies. New PS5 buyers without Plus do not get the chart’s general 20% launch saving.

Digital ownership is the dividing line

The publisher requires the original and remaster to be on the same platform store and the same account. Steam and Epic ownership are separate routes. Owning a copy on one does not establish eligibility on the other.

For consoles, the chart names the Xbox One digital original and the PS4 digital original. Physical copies are excluded because the publisher says those purchases cannot be verified for the offer. A disc on the shelf does not qualify.

Telltale says the owner price should appear automatically on Steam and PlayStation. Epic’s offer is shown on the store and applied at checkout; Xbox applies it at checkout, with an alert for owners who have notifications enabled. Those are the publisher’s instructions. We have not tested the discount using eligible accounts, so check the actual price before paying.

Switch is not part of the October 29 launch

The dated publisher release specifies PC through Steam and Epic, PS5, and Xbox One on October 29. Xbox Series X|S play is described as backward compatibility with the Xbox One version, not a separate native Series release.

Nintendo Switch follows later, with no date qualified in the current announcement. Its discount details are also pending. Generic “PC and consoles” wording on the game site should not be read as an October 29 Switch promise. Physical retail editions come later too. This offer concerns the digital launch.

What the extra purchase actually promises

The remaster includes the five-episode story. Telltale advertises revised lighting, animation and environments, a black-and-white Noir Mode, and bonus material including playable deleted scenes. The supplied Noir screenshot below illustrates that presentation; it is not a comparison captured during our testing.

This is a reported buying guide, not a verdict on whether the changes justify buying again. We have not tested performance, save imports or the finished remaster. The Steam page checked on October 26 still lists an upcoming release, no user reviews and Steam Deck compatibility as Unknown. Those fields do not establish launch quality either way.

The Episode 1 demo was advertised through October 26, and its download control was visible during our check that day. There is no confirmed end hour in the packet, so do not assume it remains available afterward.

For returning owners, the next step is straightforward: match the qualifying digital copy, store and account, then verify the offered price when the promotion begins. A discount answers the cost question. It does not answer the quality question.
