Leder Games has revealed Stomp, a cooperative dexterity board game about mechs fighting giant monsters. The publisher’s November 3 announcement names Taylor Shuss as designer and Evan Palmer as illustrator, with a Kickstarter campaign planned for 2027. That is a crowdfunding window, not a date when a finished box reaches your table.

The hook is physical execution. GamesRadar’s November 4 reveal reporting describes players flicking shots at kaiju. A sound plan can still end with a bad shot. For groups tired of talking through a cooperative turn until someone finds the correct answer, that is the interesting question: how much does the game ask players to do with their hands after the discussion stops?

Follow the design, not just the monster art

Stomp’s announcement gives a reason to follow the project, but not enough to recommend buying it. GameGuideDog has not played the game. We cannot judge its difficulty, how forgiving it is of different dexterity levels, or whether missed shots make a session fun rather than frustrating.

Those are useful checks when fuller rules or an official demonstration arrive. Look for what a miss changes, how players recover, and whether everyone gets meaningful decisions. The illustrated city tells you the tone; it does not answer those rules questions.

Palmer identified the November 4 illustration above as an early piece used to establish the project’s look. He also described the announcement’s cover art as not quite final. Treat both as a look at the art direction, not proof of what the manufactured game will contain.

The next useful checkpoint is the campaign

Leder’s announcement links to a Kickstarter follow page. The campaign body was not fully accessible during our checks, so we are not certifying a live pledge offer, price, shipping bill or delivery estimate. The verified publisher statement is the planned 2027 campaign.

If you want a cooperative campaign to compare while following Stomp, our Fable Quest preview covers a different commitment. More tabletop reporting is in the board-games section.

For now, put Stomp on a watchlist if cooperative dexterity sounds like your group’s kind of problem. Wait for the rules and an actual campaign offer before turning appealing monster art into a buying decision.
