Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds begins its Year Two rollout on November 3 according to SEGA’s U.S.-facing announcement, but the new season is not one paid expansion. Duel Mode and gadget changes are free updates. Season Pass Two buys a separate premium-content roadmap, and the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition bundles that pass with another copy of the base game.
Already own CrossWorlds? Check that last distinction before paying. The U.S. PlayStation Store explicitly warns existing Digital Deluxe owners to buy Season Pass Two instead of the Year Two bundle, because the bundle would duplicate their base-game purchase.
What owners get without the new pass
SEGA’s October 9 Steam showcase post puts one-on-one Duel Mode among the free additions planned for November 3. It describes races where players can see their opponent’s items and position, with a Duel Boost gauge adding another tactical choice. Today’s developer interview contrasts those duels with the usual 12-player races; this is a different race format, not just another guest-character pack.
The free update also adds a seventh gadget slot, the Super Slot, for a one-slot gadget with an enhanced effect. SEGA also lists 15 new gadgets and Bayonetta as a free character unlocked through Rival Duel matches. These are the publisher’s descriptions, not findings from our own play session.

Two Deluxe editions, two different passes
The U.S. PlayStation listing checked on November 3 shows the base game at $39.99, the original Digital Deluxe Edition at $59.99, and the Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition at the same $59.99. Season Pass Two alone is $29.99. These are U.S. dollar listings, not Polish prices or a new sale announced today. SEGA announced the permanent price reduction in October.
The original Deluxe edition lists the original Season Pass and the Sonic Prime Character Pack. The Year Two edition instead lists Season Pass Two, with the SEGA controller decals and console-inspired machines. Neither shared price nor the word Deluxe means both passes are included. Check the contents rather than the short edition label.
Season Pass Two covers six premium packs on a staggered roadmap. Godzilla is the first; other packs are scheduled into 2027. Buying the pass does not mean the entire roadmap is downloadable now. Nor is buying it necessary simply to try the free Duel Mode update.
Check the regional rollout before paying
The November 3 PlayStation interview says Year Two launches later today. SEGA’s English regional site, which lists Asian currencies, dates the Godzilla and console-machine content to November 4. Those pages do not establish one worldwide unlock time. Check your local store and installed update before assuming a particular pack is available.
