That matters because it quietly tells buyers the current marketing push is still incomplete. The preorder page is open, but the fuller proof-of-gameplay pitch is still being held for a separate showcase.
That makes the current decision pretty simple. If you already know you are in for S-GAME’s dark wuxia action-RPG, the stores now give you enough hard details to lock in a version. If you are interested but not convinced, PlayStation itself is pointing you toward August 17 as the moment that should do the heavier lifting.
What the official stores confirm right now
The PS5 pricing picture is clean in the U.S. PlayStation Store.
At our Wednesday, August 12, 2026 source check, the store listed the Standard Edition at $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99. The Standard listing is straightforward. The Deluxe listing adds Wulin Legend, Blood-Steel Form, a digital artbook, and a digital soundtrack.
The preorder bonus wording is also clearer than some games usually manage. Both the PlayStation Store and Steam say preordering unlocks the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit early, but both also say those items can be obtained through in-game progression. That means this is early access to bonus items, not clean evidence of content being locked away forever.
Steam gives the less glamorous details, and some of them matter more than the trailer
Steam is where the practical buyer read gets sharper.

There is one date wrinkle worth keeping clean.
PlayStation Blog, the official site, and the U.S. PlayStation Store all point to October 29, 2026. Steam, at least in the storefront version observed during this pass, shows October 28, 2026.
This reads like a storefront and time-zone display issue, not proof of a deeper release contradiction. Still, the honest version of the story is to say S-GAME and PlayStation are framing the launch as October 29, while Steam currently displays October 28 in the observed locale. Flattening that into one fake-perfect global date would be sloppy.
Donnie Yen is real context, but not a substitute for a verdict
PlayStation’s post also leans on Donnie Yen, saying he has served as a creative consultant since 2023 and provides facial and motion capture for Mo Yuan. That is real, first-party context and worth using.
It is also the kind of detail that can get overworked fast. A martial-arts legend attached to the project helps explain the game’s pitch around choreography and style. It does not prove the combat loop feels great in a player’s hands. That part still has to be shown, then eventually played.
The honest buyer read today
The honest read is this: Phantom Blade Zero now has a credible preorder package, but August 17 is still the better decision point for anyone on the fence.
The prices are clear. The preorder bonuses are not being sold as permanently exclusive. The Steam page gives you the unsexy but necessary details around Denuvo and PC specs. The game still looks striking. None of that changes the main missing piece. The marketing now admits there is another, bigger gameplay explanation coming in a few days.
So yes, this is a real flagship story for Wednesday, August 12, 2026. It just is not a license to pretend the case is closed. The preorder button is live. The proof still has a date.
