Mycopunk left Early Access on October 20, and its October 21 hotfix already changes the launch-day warning list. Returning players have specific unlock conditions and a changed infusion tradeoff to examine. A version number alone cannot explain either.
This is reported release news, not a GameGuideDog review. We have not played the build or tested a save. Pigeons at Play’s release notes and the current storefront establish developer claims and purchase terms, not a flawless campaign or measured performance.
New equipment has requirements
The release post says the Mycologist must first be rescued in Expedition Alpha. The Diffraction Driver, an ion scattergun with an adjustable cone, requires level 10 and resources. The Snowball grenade unlocks from X11-B, the new moonlet region intended for difficult missions. These are the developer’s requirements, not a route we have completed.
Updating therefore does not mean every new tool immediately appears in a ready loadout. For a group planning a return, agree whether pursuing those unlocks is the evening you want. This reporting does not verify how long they take or whether every account receives credit correctly.
Smaller patterns have a cost
The Infusion Effectiveness section says reducing an upgrade’s pattern size reduces the effectiveness of most stats; increasing its size improves them. The saved grid space and the supplied stats need to be considered together. A smaller shape is not an unqualified improvement.
That is a reason to re-examine a build, not our balance verdict or an instruction to dismantle equipment. Fulfillments also have mixed retroactivity: some count previous activity and others do not, depending on what the developer already tracked. Do not assume every earlier accomplishment automatically awards its new cosmetic.

The first hotfix narrows the warning list
The launch post listed stalled relay-tower and Saxito-bag Fulfillments and problems unlocking Cranius and Bunker Buster. Patch 2.0.1 says it fixes those four issues, plus lighting and translations. Repeating the entire list as unaddressed would omit newer evidence. Calling the repairs independently confirmed would go too far.
The newer post still acknowledges that equipping a Drop Pod skin can hide certain light materials until restarting. Restarting is the developer’s workaround, not a procedure we validated. Further fixes are promised, without a universal all-clear.
The current US listing and filtered metadata show $7.49 against $14.99, a 50% discount; the storefront displays November 3 as the end. That is regional base-game pricing, not a Polish quote or completed checkout. Windows is listed, and Steam labels Deck Unsupported, not our device test.
Read unlock requirements and infusion rules before returning. New buyers should weigh the package and limitations without turning Early Access totals into a 1.0-only verdict. Our Go-Go Town analysis covers a separate co-op decision; more reporting sits in the gaming archive.
