Loftia launched into Early Access on November 3, but buying the game does not buy an offline life sim. Qloud Games requires an internet connection even when you play alone, and the upfront purchase sits alongside an optional cosmetic shop and Community Pass. Those are useful boundaries to check before moving into its floating-island world.
The U.S. Steam listing currently charges $24.89, down from $29.99, with the launch discount listed through November 17. That is the base game, not a promise that every cosmetic reward is included. Regional prices differ.
What is there now, and what comes later?
The developer’s launch announcement describes a four-chapter core storyline across Loftia City, Hanging Gardens and Gridfall. The Steam listing centers the game on farming, gathering, crafting, decorating a personal island and contributing to shared projects. It also describes exploration and group activities. These are the advertised systems, not a checklist GameGuideDog has played through.
Study Cafe, Clubs and NPC Friendships belong to the later plans in the launch announcement. Do not buy on the assumption that they are already available. The developer targets roughly a year in Early Access, with the eventual release dependent on development rather than a fixed 1.0 date.

Playing solo still means connecting
The official FAQ distinguishes playing alone from playing offline. The studio says solo players can progress and enjoy almost all the content, but everyone needs to be online.
That makes the service part of the purchase. Someone looking for a private farming game to play without a connection should not treat the solo option as an offline mode. This report has not tested the launch servers, stability or performance, and a pre-release account cannot settle those questions.
What the extra spending covers
Qloud Games describes the Backer Boutique as optional cosmetic spending and says it has no gameplay effects or gacha. Its separate Community Pass adds cosmetic rewards tied to World Projects; according to the FAQ, those rewards do not expire. These are the developer’s stated monetization rules, not an independent audit of the live shop. No unverified pass price is included here.
For buyers, the distinction is straightforward: the base purchase provides access to the game; it does not mean every appearance item is earned without further spending. Check whether that arrangement suits you before buying, rather than treating the launch discount as the whole decision.

A useful early impression, with limits
In her November 2 LadiesGamers account, Mina Smith liked crafting access to stored resources but disliked the battery constraints on processing. She disclosed early code from The Story Mob. That is one pre-release experience, not retail consensus or our verdict.
Buy for the online activities available now, if they are enough for you. Future social features and promised spending limits need to remain promises until checked in practice. For another purchase-boundary example, see our S.O.N.A.R. demo-save guide; more launches are in the indie games archive.
