Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 has reached its October 14 Steam release. The old US preorder discount is no longer the buying angle. Auroch Digital’s launch announcement and the store now give buyers specific navigation and combat changes to assess, without a GameGuideDog hands-on verdict.
At 16:42 UTC on October 14, the official US price API listed $24.99 with no discount and marked the game as released. A separate browser check showed the same standalone price and a purchase button. Bundle discounts are separate offers; this is not a Polish or console price quote, or proof of successful checkout in every country.
The demo informed the developer’s changes, but its current download availability is not established here. Our October 5 browser capture showed a demo control; today’s filtered metadata omits that entry and the checked store page did not show a demo download control. Neither observation proves the demo is unavailable through every route. GameGuideDog has not installed or played either build.
In the October 14 launch post, Auroch says it increased the Bolt Pistol magazine from six rounds to eight, reduced the Ice World blizzard’s severity, allowed Nyra to melee while reloading her Bolt Pistol, and added knockback to Malum’s Charge. These are developer-reported changes after demo feedback, not reproduced fixes or evidence that all launch issues are resolved.
The automap is a separate addition
Auroch Digital’s September 23 recap, rechecked in full through its official feed, describes a new optional automap alongside the returning Navigation Guide. The guide draws a route to the next objective; the map is intended to help track visited areas and outstanding objectives.
The distinction matters when judging the sequel’s navigation pitch. A route and an overview answer different questions. Neither the description nor the developer illustration proves that every level is easy to read, or that the current demo includes every tool described for the full release.

The recap also describes returning assist options, including invulnerability, infinite ammunition and unlocking weapons, plus a new Undying Mode. In the developer’s description, Undying Mode allows damage but saves the player immediately before death. These are specific planned options, not a tested accessibility endorsement.
A branching campaign remains a promise to assess
The developer describes two playable heroes, Malum Caedo and Nyra Veyrath, more than 30 levels and 40-plus new enemies. It says branching routes mean one playthrough will not show everything. The store describes a single-player campaign; AI allies in the recap should not be mistaken for multiplayer.
There is a useful limit in the earlier external preview. PC Gamer’s Morgan Park liked the character variety in his May 21 hands-on, but questioned how representative two comparatively linear preview missions were of the larger campaign. That is his historical experience, not a review of the current public demo or launch build.

Check the platform, not just the countdown
Auroch Digital’s September recap planned October 14 releases on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Switch 2 later and no date. Today’s release check establishes the Steam listing and developer announcement, not independent console availability or a new Switch 2 date.
Check the current Steam page for the offer that actually applies. The automap, assist options and reported combat changes give you concrete questions to investigate. They do not settle full-campaign quality, compatibility or performance.
